Abstract: This paper reviews research papers on women's entrepreneurship during the decade between 2000 and 2010, which were published by top journals on management, entrepreneurship and women's studies in the world. These research papers are examined according to five topics: gender differences in entrepreneurship performance and the impacts, women's entrepreneurial motivation and entrepreneurial intention, characteristics of women entrepreneurs, balance between entrepreneurship and family and entrepreneurial financing. The results are compared with the study of Ahl (2006), which has reviewed the women's entrepreneurship research between 1982 and 2000, to identify improvements and deficiencies in more recent research. The paper also suggests possible future directions in women's entrepreneurship research.
