To further implement the Opinions on the Promotion of Women's Equal Rights in Employment, Jiangsu Women's Federation set up a supplementary plan to highlight supervision in women's employment.
The plan requires women's federations to allocate a special column to publicizing women's equal rights in employment, it also stipulates that local departments of human resources and social security should conduct special inspections of units so as to protect women's labor rights from infringement. In addition, the plan also emphasizes training on the improvement of women's rights in employment for heads of departments of human resources.
"Women's rights in employment, rights and interests in labor, as well as labor protection of women workers have joined the ranks of inspection organized by the departments of human resources and social security," a senior official of a local women's federation said.
He also said that a series of harsher punishments will be adopted if an employer is found to be violating female workers' legal rights.
The Opinions on the Promotion of Women's Equal Rights in Employment was jointly released by the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Jiangsu Province and local women's federations, ahead of this year's May Day.
