Several impoverished women from Horqin Right Wing Middle Banner of northeast China's Inner Mongolia demonstrated their local ethnic embroidery skills at the province's official exhibition center on June 9 to mark Chinese Cultural Day.

The initiative was organized to help such women to find better ways to sell their embroideries, while popularizing the distinctive intangible culture with its ethnic characteristics and bright colors.

The local government also organized a series of embroidery training courses to help further impoverished women shake off poverty by selling their handicrafts.
