The Sichuan Women's Federation held a meeting on "helping women in Tibetan ethnic group regions find jobs at home" in Chengdu, the capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province on August 15.

Officials from relevant provincial departments discussed policies to improve people's lives in Tibetan ethnic group regions at the meeting.

Chairperson of the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions Li Dengju delivered a speech, in which she said all relevant parties should make joint efforts to promote social stability in Tibetan ethnic group regions. In order to achieve this goal, all parties should help women in the region to find work at home. They should select appropriate industries, draft development plans, develop leading companies and provide professional training for women. Li required that all relevant parties should place an emphasis on the work and formulate detailed policies to carry out the work. The Sichuan Women's Federation should also establish a work mechanism with other provincial departments to promote the work.
