The 3rd Session of the 12th Executive Conference of the Henan Women's Federation was held in Zhengzhou, capital city of central China's Henan Province, on February 28, 2015 to provide a summary of its work in 2014, to present its plans for the coming year and to confer awards upon representative women for their outstanding performance in their respective initiatives.

At the meeting, Deng Kai, vice secretary of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said that women from all walks of life across the entire province had made great achievements under the leadership of women's federations in the promotion of women and children's affairs and in the protection of their legal rights and interests at current social circumstances. She added that glorious success had been achieved in the efforts to find winners of "Most Beautiful Families" awards, in the care shown for left-behind women and children (whose husbands or parents left them in their rural hometown to find work in the city), in further implementing small-loan policies amongst underprivileged women and in improving employment with respect to rate and conditions.

"Local governmental bodies are expected to increase the level of importance they attach to their work on women's affairs, to give higher importance to the growth of women officials and to extend greater assistance to the operation of women's federations," Deng announced in his speech, "while women's federations should improve their professional competence and strive further for the construction of a social environment conducive to women and children's healthy development."

Meanwhile, Henan Women's Federation President Chen Yanqiu delivered at the gathering an address, in which she pledged that women's federations would implement fully the key takeaways from the 4th Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, would better adjust themselves and their work to the new and ever-changing social circumstances, would promote the popularity of gender equality amongst the public, and would lead their fellow women to make a concerted effort toward local social and economic growth over the coming year.

The key session was held in Beijing on October 20–23, 2014 and featured an official announcement on the "major issues concerning comprehensively advancing rule of law."

Furthermore, representative women and social organizations were also presented with awards for their proactive engagement in the "Most Beautiful Families" campaign — a jointly executed effort to extend assistance to underprivileged women and children — and in other similar topics.
