Recent years have seen multiple efforts and sound achievements made by Nanning Women's Federation in the promotion of voluntary service amongst women in accordance with the observance of traditional Chinese virtues and core socialist values.
Nanning Women's Federation has come up with basic guidance and targets in its work on female voluntary service and integrated its relevant work into the efforts taken by local government in the promotion of women's engagement in voluntary service. It registered Nanning Association of Female Voluntary Service in 2015 and aimed to develop it into a popular brand of voluntary service amongst the public. So far, work on the promotion of female voluntary service in Nanning has become more and more regulated.
Meanwhile, with the support of Nanning Civilization Office, Nanning Women's Federation has utilized an online registration system with an emphasis upon applicants' gender to better promote the regulation of voluntary service amongst women. According to the registration system, female volunteers are expected to be covered by charity insurance and given bonuses for their engagement in voluntary service.
Furthermore, Nanning Women's Federation has proactively mobilized female members of the Communist Party of China (CPC), psychological professionals, lawyers and pacesetters of March 8th Red-Banner awards to register themselves into volunteers, and organized them to hold various kinds of voluntary activities in the assistance of those in need. So far, there are nearly 5,000 female voluntary bodies, with over 200,000 registered women volunteers.
What's more, Nanning Women's Federation has financed nearly 20 ongoing voluntary projects, which are operated by female volunteers and aim to promote the construction of family culture, the protection of women and children's rights, the assistance of children in their academic studies and the management of a free matchmakers business.
At last, Zhujin Voluntary Organization, Surrogate Mothers, and female individual volunteers, including Wang Fang and Yao Chiyu, have been conferred with national awards for their dedication to voluntary service.
To help the women's federations across the nation learn more about its work on the promotion of voluntary service amongst women, Nanning Women's Federation was invited to share its experiences and practice with attendees at a working conference on the work of women's voluntary service held by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) in Qingdao, a city in east China's Shandong Province, on September 22.
