Yu Suling, the Party secretary of a social welfare care home in Panjin, northeast China's Liaoning Province, has been enhancing the center, improving management practices, and making it a warm home for residents since 2011.

Due to the large numbers of children and elderly with mental impairments residing in the institution, few wanted to work and live in the place. Before Yu's arrival, there were only five Party members.

Faced with the poor condition, the determined women decided to make a difference to its management and services. Yu started with the establishment of a set of regulations. She made over 40 rules to standardize the Party members' behaviors in the institution.

Moreover, Yu led those older recipients who had joined the Party to organize a supervisory committee and participate in making and evaluating the activities of the care home.

In addition, Yu also managed to record people's outstanding work moments via photos that would be displayed on panels. Thanks to Yu's management, the staff's political caliber and professional morality has been greatly improved, many noted.

Meanwhile, Yu moved further to promote the elderly people's living conditions. Headed by Yu, the welfare center offered more nutritious foods for the aged; reconfigured its infrastructure; encouraged nurses to get professional training; hired doctors to help elderly recipients stay healthy; and, organized various entertainment activities frequently.

Everyone expressed their thanks to Yu and the efforts she has made for them. "I would like to do everything as long as I can follow a solid leader like Yu," said a Party member from the institution.
