Aimed at enhancing the social position of women in China by improving relevant legislation, the attendees discussed various issues such as the legislative process of anti-domestic law in China, labor protection of female workers and the education rights of girls.

Foreign experts and representatives also shared their experience in various areas, such as combating gender discrimination. In his opening remarks, Remy Cristini, second secretary of the Dutch embassy, stressed that the right to equal treatment is a fundamental human right.
"The universality of human rights is a crucial principle in the fight against inequality and discrimination, because it implies that everybody is entitled to the same rights," he said.
Also present at the conference were leaders from the All-China Women's Federation and related government departments and representatives of Chinese universities.
