The first "Her Village International Forum", which was co-hosted by Sun Media Group and New Alliance International Communications Group, was held in Beijing's JW Marriott Hotel on April 26-27, 2014.
Chairperson of Sun Media Group and one of the sponsors of the forum, Ms. Yang Lan, started the ball rolling with her speech on "Women's Voices and Choices". In Yang's speech, she referred to women's life status in modern society and also communicated her perspective on happiness; at the same time, she appealed to people to proactively create happiness instead of simply waiting for it.
"Her Village International Forum" is the first domestic annual festival focusing on women's physical and mental health and happiness. There are seven topics covered in this forum, which are: the Growth of Women's Bodies, Hearts and Spirits, Decompression, Nutrition, Inverse Growth, In-Position Viewing, Marriage and Creativity.
The evening reception of "Her Village International Forum" titled "The Power of Women" was also held on April 26. At the reception, the "Women's Creativity Award" was awarded, which was jointly launched by Sun Media Group and American Online (AOL). Chinese Vice Foreign Minister and Spokesperson for the second session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) Fu Ying, writer Yan Geling, entrepreneur Dong Mingzhu and seven other remarkable women were awarded the prize.
