Local officials launched a "Heng'ai Action: Connecting Families" charity project in east China's Jiangxi Province on November 26 to show concern for disadvantaged children.

It was part of Heng'ai Action, which was launched by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF), and Shanghai-based clothes manufacturer Hengyuanxiang Group in 2005.

Over the past 13 years, the action has donated a total of over 14,500 sweaters to orphaned and physically-disabled children in Jiangxi.

In 2014, the organizers first launched the project and built a platform for children in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and other provinces to exchange gifts.

Over the past four years, Jiangxi has donated over 4,000 sweaters and over 1,300 sets of new clothes to children of ethnic minorities and disadvantaged groups in the remote region.

The philanthropic acts touched children in Xinjiang and made them feel the warmth and love from charity-minded people in Jiangxi.

Jiangxi Working Committee on Women and Children, Nanchang Women's Federation, and Pingxiang Women's Federation will be responsible for this year's Heng'ai Action, according to a spokesperson.
