A public service team from south China's Guangdong Province launched a charity campaign on May 5 aimed at offering assistance to impoverished people in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.

The members of the team paid a special trip to the region soon after to explain to disadvantaged groups about the content and significance of the poverty alleviation insurance on offer.

They then bought such insurance for some 1,075 impoverished households in Tibet's Bomi County.
