More than 200 left-behind and disadvantaged children recently sang the song "Ode to the Motherland," raising the curtain on a charity summer camp in Jining City, East China's Shandong Province.

The children would explore the charm of traditional Chinese culture in the seven-day event, which was initiated by the Women's Federation of Jining City to offer better care to children in need.

Similar charity events have been held in winter vacations as well. About 1,400 children have benefited from eight summer and winter camps since its debut in 2017.
