Liu Yongmei, President of the Women's Federation of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, visited the family of Huang Wenxiu at Tianzhou Township, Tianyang County, in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,on June 20, to express deepest condolences on their loss of the 30-year-old daughter.
The visit was made on behalf of Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress and President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), and Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of ACWF and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF.
Huang Wenxiu was the First Secretary of the Party committee of Leye County, Baise City in Guangxi. She graduated from Beijing Normal University, with a master's degree in law.
Huang had led the 88 households of the local village to shake off poverty. She passed away in a flash flood in Lingyun County on her way back to the village in the early morning of June 17.
"Thank you for bringing up such an excellent daughter for the Party and the country," said Liu as she consoled Huang Wenxiu's parents, communicating greetings and condolences from Shen Yueyue, Huang Xiaowei and Sun Dawei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the autonomous region.
Huang Xiaowei, on behalf of Shen Yueyue and the ACWF, learned about Huang's tragic death by telephone call from the local women's federation on the evening of June 19, and she issued instructions to express condolences to her family members and to publicize and commemorate her outstanding merit.
