Women's Federation in Shanghai Visits Education Base in East China's Shandong

The Xuhui District Women's Federation (XWF), in east China's Shanghai, has organized 37 local officials to participate in a seminar in the Party education base in Mount Yimeng, east China's Shandong Province in November 2018.

The attending officials included members of the executive committee of the district federation, presidents of federations at town level.

At the event's opening meeting, Wan Xiaolan, secretary of the Party Group and president of XWF, stated that she hoped that the participants would deeply understand the significance of the training, cherish the learning opportunities, and conscientiously comprehend the spirit of Yimeng and the heroism of Yimeng women.

Wan said that officials also need to improve their Party consciousness, strengthen the "Four Consciousnesses," and truly integrate what they have learned into their future work and lives.

Wei Qun, deputy secretary of the Committee for Discipline Inspection of China Shanghai (Group) Corporation for Foreign Economic & Technological Cooperation; Tang Yong, member of the Party committee of the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center Co.; Ma Lili, member of the Legal Department of XWF; and Cheng Yanni, president of the women's federation in Longhua Sub-district, delivered speeches.

At the seminar, Zhuang Jixu, professor at the Party School of Linyi Municipal Party Committee, gave a special report.

He deeply analyzed the historical and practical reasons for the formation of Yimeng Spirit and the enlightenment to the present from the aspects of the implications of the spirit, the formation of the spirit and carrying forward of the spirit.

The participating officials also visited the memorial halls of Meng Lianggu Battle and wives of the Red Army soldiers, the former site of the Shandong Provincial Government, and the Railway Guerrilla Memorial Park — a patriotic education base for women and children.

Following leaders of the women's federation of Zaozhuang City, the participants also visited the women and children's home center, women's rights protection station, and an after-school activity center in Zaozhuang.

The officials of the two places communicated the work of the women and children's home center and legal rights protection service models.

Wan said that the officials of women's federations should study, implement and vigorously carry forward the spirit of the 12th National Women's Congress and educate, inspire the women masses through the stories about the selfless dedication of the heroic women in Yimeng, their arduous struggle and loyalty to the Party.

They should also firmly follow the leadership of the Party, take action and create a better life to realize their own improvement in the great cause of the reform and development of the country, Wan said.
