Huaibei Women's Federation (HWF) in east China's Anhui Province has provided free courses to train local registered disadvantaged females to become infant nurses, in a move to further the national poverty alleviation campaign.

On July 10, over 20 attendees were certified as infant nurses (preliminary), for which they can expect salaries of around 2,000-4,000 yuan a month once they start a job.

The activity has successfully helped local women increase their incomes and shake off their disadvantaged status, according to a spokesperson.
