To help employees overcome the difficulty of taking care of children and ease their worries about raising children, the trade unions at all levels in East China's Shandong Province have promoted after-school tutoring service for children in the winter and summer vacations.

To date, nearly 500 after-school tutoring classes which help local employees take care of their children when they are at work have established in the province.

Following a notice on establishing such classes in winter and summer vocations issued by the Shandong Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, the trade unions at all levels in Shandong explored different modes of after-school child-care services, taking into account differences in enterprise size, inhabiting situation and employee groups.

The after-school classes have already opened for different units in the towns, communities and rural construction sites in Weifang, a city in Shandong, where enterprises, institutions, industrial parks and migrant workers gather.

For large companies and institutions with high demand, the after-school classes have been built in the companies and institutions.

Special after-school classes for children of migrant workers, laid-off workers and employees with financial difficulties have also established in the city.
