Guizhou Holds Women's Work and Sustainable Development Forum

A forum on the sustainable development of women's work and ethnic minority areas was held in Guiyang, capital city of southwest China's Guizhou Province on July 27, 2012.

Vice President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) Zhen Yan gave a speech at the forum. Also in attendance were President of Women's Studies Institute of China under the ACWF Tan Lin, President of Guizhou Women's Federation Luo Ning and Professor of Peking University Gao Bingzhong.

In her speech, Zhen said that women's development is related to sustainable development and both complement each other. In addition, women can make great progress and attain achievements by participating in sustainable development.

Tan also addressed the forum attendees, saying that great importance should be attached to women in the sustainable development of ethnic minority areas. According to her, women should be offered more opportunities to work and participate in decision-making.
