Hervé Tullet, known as "the prince of pre-school books" in France, joined 11 Chinese children to exhibit picture books at the Yuan Art Museum in Beijing from December 20–28, 2014.

The Third China Children's Picture Book Exhibition, which aimed to promote the development of China's original picture books and art education, provided an opportunity for children to showcase their works; for parents to understand the influence and significance of art education to children; and for publishers to promote outstanding picture books, from which children would benefit.

In July 2013, the 11 children aged 6 to 11 began attending a Su Qinghua Art Education course, which teachers Su Qinghua and Da Tian had spent 10 years developing. The course covered oil painting, block printing, line painting, watercolor painting, clay sculpting and other art forms.

Under the guidance of the teachers, the children selected their favorite art forms to compile their own stories with pictures and completed 12 books in total — one book from each child and a collaborative one produced by all of them.

Each of these books told a different story in a different creative method, presented the personality and independent thought of each child and conveyed the significance of art education.

Tullet and the 11 children not only attended the exhibition in person but also did some more painting of their own on a long stroll they took together at the Yuan Art Museum.

In addition, the exhibition featured a number of lectures on art education from field experts.
