1.Mother Loves Me Once Again (1989)

Mother Loves Me Once Again was a well-known movie in the late 1980s in China. It was so touching that most people who saw it couldn't help crying. The movie described the deep love between a mother and her son.

Huang Qiuxia and Lin Guorong loved each other deeply. However, Lin's parents broke them up. Pregnant Qiuxia had to leave her lover. Later she gave birth to a son and named him Xiaoqiang. Qiuxia loved Xiaoqiang very much. They lived together happily. However, Lin's parents took Xiaoqiang away and Qiuxia got mad. 18 yeas later, Xiaoqiang became a doctor and worked at a madhouse. There he found his long-lost mother and recalled her memories by singing a song…

Kuei-Mei Yang, an actress from Taiwan, played Huang Qiuxia in the movie. She became known as "the most famous mother in China" through playing this role.


2.Jiuxiang (1995)

Jiuxiang was a loving mother. When she was in her middle age her husband died, leaving her only a ruined old house and five young children. At that time, a man helped her a lot and proposed to her. However, considering the feelings of her children, she refused him. Jiuxiang worked very hard and sent all her children to  universities.

Famous Chinese actress Song Chunli played Jiuxiang in the movie. In 1996, she received the Golden Rooster Awards for Best Actress for this role.


3.Still Be Mother and Son Next Life(1997)

The movie Still Be Mother and Son Next Life was adapted from a real story.

Zhao Liyun was a teacher at a primary school. Her son Xiaodi got an incurable disease. To give all her love to Xiaodi, Zhao Liyun gave up her second child that she is expecting. With the threat of the fatal disease, Zhao taught Xiaodi to enjoy life, to live like a healthy child and to still have a dream and ambition. With her special care, Xiaodi grew up and a miracle happened — he lived many years longer than the doctors had predicted. He faced life bravely, and lived more happily than many healthy children who were mentally weak.

Facing death, Zhao Liyun taught Xiaodi to love life. The quality of life was more important than the length of life was what she told her son and all the viewers.


4.Gone is the One Who Held Me the Dearest in the World (2002)

Gone is the One Who Held Me the Dearest in the World was a true-life movie. The heroine in the movie was a middle-aged writer. She achieved great success in her career. However, when she went home to visit her mother, who was over 80 years old, she suddenly found her mother had become very old and needed her care. After that, the writer spent much time looking after her mother. When her mother was found ill, she tried to help her recover until she passed away.

The movie inspired viewers to care more about parents when they were alive.


5.Duet (2005)

The movie Duet was directed by a female director, Chen Li. It showed the great love between a mother and her daughter.

The mother was an ordinary rural woman, kind, diligent and independent. She adopted a little girl named Xianxian. To bring up Xianxian, she worked very hard and solved a lot of problems all by herself. With her effort, Xianxian finally became a ballet dancer.


6.The Woman Who Sells the Bean  (1992)

The Woman Who Sells the Bean was another movie by Chen Zhuhuang, the director of Mother Loves Me Once Again. It was also a touching movie.

Jinzhi, the heroine of the movie, was a diligent and kind-hearted woman. She met many difficulties and troubles in life, but she never gave up. To support her family, she got up very early every day and sold tofu puddings on the streets.


7.Net Mother (2008)

Net Mother was also adapted from a real story, which took place in China's Jiangxi Province.

Liu Xueping (Liu Huanrong in real life) lost her hands in a big fire when she was very young. Using the only finger she had, she learnt to surf the Internet. She also helped many children who were addict to the Internet go back to school.
